Transparency Strategy of Corazon de Cacao: Vision and Status Quo
Hinweis: Dies ist zur Zeit Work in Progress. Wir arbeiten daran unsere Strategie sehr "transparent" zu entwickeln.
Goal: To make Corazon de Cacao the most transparent company in the cocoa sector, standing for ethical, ecological, and social commitment. We are ready to disclose ALL our processes and decisions to build trust and a deep connection with our customers and partners.
1. Radical supply chain transparency
- Status Quo: Our cocoa beans come exclusively from farmers in Guatemala, whom we know personally and support. A portion of our cocoa beans comes from our own farm, which we manage sustainably. This farm is not only a production site but also a place for visitors who wish to see the operations firsthand.
- Measure: Implementation of an interactive map on our website that shows the origin of each batch along with information about farming families, cultivation methods, and regional conditions.
- Additionally: Videos and interviews with the farmers and staff on our farm are regularly published on our website and social media to make the work and daily life on site transparent.
2. Publicly Accessible Financial Reports and Pricing
- Status Quo: We pay our farmers prices that are well above the market level and demonstrate the fair pricing structure of our own farm.
- Measure: Publication of the exact pricing structure, including the difference to conventional market prices, so that customers can see the added value for the farmers directly.
- Additionally: Introduction of an easily understandable annual financial report that shows how our revenues are distributed. A detailed price breakdown will be provided for each product, so consumers know exactly what they are paying for.
3. Transparent Production and Processing
- Status Quo: On our farm and in the local processing facilities, cocoa beans are processed by hand using traditional methods to ensure quality and create local jobs.
- Measure: Documentation and publication of production processes and quality controls on the website to introduce customers to the intricacies of cocoa production.
- Additionally: Disclosure of working conditions, employment contracts, and safety standards in our processing facilities and on our farm. Live updates or videos from production are also planned to be published regularly.
4. Environmental and Sustainability Reports
- Status Quo: On our farm, we implement environmentally friendly cultivation methods and agroforestry systems that combine cocoa cultivation with other crops and promote biodiversity.
- Supplementary: Independent certifications and audits are published to demonstrate compliance with our sustainability standards. Additionally, we continuously invest in improving our environmental measures, which is also documented.
5. Open Communication and Feedback Channels
- Status Quo: We already maintain regular communication with our customers through social media and welcome visitors to our farm, where they can gain a deep insight into our work.
- measure: Introduction of a quarterly transparency newsletter that highlights all progress, challenges, and new projects. Customers can subscribe to this and send questions or suggestions directly to us.
- Supplementary: Establishment of a "Transparency Panel" where customers can gain direct access to information and submit suggestions for further improvements.
6. Social Projects and Community Orientation
- Status Quo: In addition to our agricultural work, we have initiated several social projects that particularly support the indigenous population. These include health initiatives, educational programmes, and community projects.
- Measure: Regular progress reports and detailed documentation of the social projects. This allows supporters to understand the direct impact of our actions on the quality of life in the communities.
- Supplementary: Transparent representation of the use of funds and KPIs for social projects. With this, we aim to make the direct benefits for the communities and the impact of our projects visible.
7. Digital Transparency Platform
- Status Quo: Our website already provides information about our values, projects, and our farm.
- measure: Development of a comprehensive online platform where all information on production, processing, and sustainability can be accessed in real-time. This platform is also intended to digitally complement the on-site visit to the farm, allowing interested parties to access our processes from anywhere.
- Supplementary: Examination of the use of blockchain technology to ensure seamless traceability of all products.
Summary and Outlook
Goal: Our vision is to become the most transparent company in the cocoa sector. The measures described above aim to build trust, strengthen customer loyalty, and position Corazon de Cacao as an authentic leader in social and environmental responsibility.
